一、英语日期表达法

1．英语日期与汉语日期表达的不同

美式英语中，日期的表达顺序是“月日年”。2017年1月1日表达为“January 1st, 2017”，读作“January the first, two thousand and seventeen”。汉语的表达顺序是“年月日”。

2．日期的表达方式

(1)在“某年、某月、某年某月”前用介词in。

in 2017　在2017年； in May　在五月；

in January, 2014　在2014年1月

(2)在具体某一天或某一天的上午、下午或晚上用介词on。

on July 2nd　在7月2日；

on the evening of May 1st　在5月1日晚上；

on Wednesday morning　在周三早上 

(3)在上午、下午、晚上用介词in。

in the morning/afternoon/evening

在上午/下午/晚上

(4)在中午、晚上用介词at。

at noon/night 在中午/晚上

3．对日期提问用“What's the date？” 

—What's the date today? 今天几号？

—It's July 2nd.今天是7月2日。

二、序数词

1．含义

序数词表示事物的先后顺序(如：第一、第二、第三等)，往往与定冠词the连用。

2．变化规则

(1)第一至第三单独记忆。

first 第一； second第二； third第三

它们的缩写形式是1st, 2nd, 3rd。 

(2)第四至第十九一般在基数词的词尾加­th，“第五、第八、第九、第十二”这几个序数词需特殊记忆。

fourth第四； fifth第五； sixth第六； seventh第七； eighth第八； 

ninth第九；tenth第十； eleventh第十一；  twelfth第十二； 

thirteenth第十三；fourteenth第十四； fifteenth第十五；

sixteenth第十六； seventeenth第十七；eighteenth第十八； 

nineteenth第十九 

它们的缩写形式是在阿拉伯数字后加­th。

如： fourth, fifth, eighteenth的缩写形式分别为4th, 5th, 18th。

(3)二十以上(含二十)的整十的序数词将基数词尾的y变成ie再加­th。

twentieth 第二十； fortieth 第四十； 

ninetieth 第九十

(4)两位数的序数词，只需把个位数变成序数词即可。

twenty­third 第二十三；

sixty­eighth 第六十八
